BREAKING; SHOCKING DEPARTURE: Yankees In Danger Of Losing Juan Soto To NL Rival After ‘Extremely’ Impressive Mets Pitch

The New York Yankees now face stiff competition for Juan Soto in free agency, with their crosstown rivals, the New York Mets, emerging as serious contenders.

Soto is expected to secure a monumental contract, potentially exceeding $700 million, when he signs his next deal in the coming weeks or months. However, retaining him will require more than just a hefty paycheck from the Yankees.

On November 16, Jon Heyman of the *New York Post* reported that the Mets impressed Soto with a comprehensive pitch meeting in California. This interaction has kept the Mets in the running as a leading contender for Soto’s services in 2025 and beyond—and it could have even shifted the balance, making them the front-runners for his signature.

“All indications suggest the meeting was a resounding success, and the Mets remain a top contender for the 26-year-old Soto, who helped the Yankees reach the World Series in his first season with the team in 2024 and is now the priority target for both New York clubs,” Heyman wrote. “Sources say the Mets’ presentation was a ‘big production’ and ‘very detailed.’”

The Mets went all-in during their pitch, with several high-ranking officials from the organization present to help sway Soto. Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns, manager Carlos Mendoza, and owner Steve Cohen were all involved in the meeting, and reports indicate that they made a strong impression on the star outfielder.

Soto will have a wide range of options when choosing his next destination, and his decision will likely be influenced by the chance to compete for championships. The Yankees, coming off a World Series appearance, are certainly in a favorable position on that front, especially with Soto and Aaron Judge leading the charge.

However, the Mets also made a deep playoff run this past season, advancing to the National League Championship Series before falling to the eventual champion Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers are also expected to pursue Soto in free agency, adding yet another layer of competition.

In his first year with the Yankees, Soto had an outstanding season, leading the league with 128 runs scored. He also hit 41 home runs, drove in 109 RBIs, and walked 129 times. With a.569 slugging percentage and a.989 OPS, he earned his fourth consecutive All-Star Game selection.

Soto will undoubtedly be the most sought-after free agent this offseason, and wherever he lands will set off a chain reaction of moves among MLB’s wealthiest and most successful teams.
