BREAKING; South Carolina Star Alex Huntley Snubbed in NFL Draft, Lands with Dolphins in Stunning Move!

Another South Carolina Gamecock is taking the next step to the NFL, as defensive tackle Alex “Boogie” Huntley has signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft.

Huntley was a cornerstone leader for the Gamecocks, serving as a permanent team captain in both 2023 and 2024. A steady force along the defensive line, he appeared in 50 games throughout his college career, starting 19 times. He compiled 82 tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, two pass breakups, and a blocked kick.

During the 2024 season, Huntley played in all 13 contests, earning five starts and recording 16 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, and a pair of pass deflections. Off the field, he shined as well, being named to both the SEC Community Service Team and the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Huntley’s 2023 season was particularly impressive — he was named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week after a dominant outing against Mississippi State, tallying two sacks, two pass breakups, a quarterback hurry, a fumble recovery, and a blocked kick. He also showed his athleticism by catching a touchdown pass in a win over Vanderbilt.

Nicknamed “Boogie,” Huntley brings leadership, toughness, and versatility to the Dolphins’ defensive unit as he aims to carve out a spot at the next level.
