The silver lining? There’s no denying the New York Giants’ 2025 roster is a step up from last year’s disappointing 3-14 campaign.
The bad news for Giants fans?
They might still find themselves at the bottom of the NFC East—and possibly near the basement of the entire NFL.
Swapping out Daniel Jones for Russell Wilson is a positive change. The offense has more talent, and the defensive line looks strong. But as Bleacher Report points out, even with those improvements, it’s tough to expect a dramatic turnaround when the quarterback situation still isn’t stellar.
The reality is clear: it might take 10 wins to make the playoffs, and while there’s more talent on the field—like Dexter Lawrence anchoring the defense, rookie pass rusher Abdul Carter joining the mix, and wideout Malik Nabers finally getting competent quarterback play—there are still too many weak spots and questionable areas to realistically expect seven more wins.
According to Bleacher Report‘s rankings, only the Titans, Saints, and Browns are currently viewed as having worse rosters than the Giants. So, maybe fans can hope that New York is better than those struggling teams.
Still, despite “winning” the offseason, B/R ranks the Giants among the league’s weakest rosters. Sure, they might notch more than three wins this time around—but simply improving isn’t enough. The aim is to be good—and the Giants aren’t quite there yet.
