Breaking : “Top 4-Star CB Narrows List to 3 Schools—USC Makes the Cut! Who Will He Choose on Signing Day?”

**COLUMBIA** — South Carolina is nearing the conclusion of Onis Konanbanny’s signing decision.

The standout cornerback from Heathwood Hall informed The Post and Courier that he will reveal his choice on Tuesday, February 4, with the Gamecocks, Florida, and Tennessee as his final options.

Konanbanny initially committed to the Volunteers on August 23 after receiving a total of 43 offers. However, he chose not to sign in December like many of his South Carolina peers, which allowed the Gators to make a strong effort to recruit him, leading to three visits to Gainesville.

Despite this, Shane Beamer and his staff have continued to attract local talent to Williams-Brice Stadium. In a previous conversation with The Post and Courier, Konanbanny mentioned that Tennessee felt like a second home to him, but he also expressed a similar comfort with the Gamecocks. “I feel like I was just right there, like in the backyard,” he said. “It’s close to home, not too far, still in the South.”

The USC 2025 recruiting class includes notable South Carolina talents such as Donovan Murph, Jordon Gidron, and Malik Clark. Konanbanny has been in touch with these recruits, particularly Clark, whom he considers a brother. “Malik has been encouraging me to come home. We initially planned to go to Chapel Hill, but he chose Florida State, and now he’s looking at South Carolina. We’ve been trying to figure out how we can align our decisions,” Konanbanny shared.

Beamer has consistently conveyed to in-state recruits that the top South Carolina players should remain in the state, a message that resonates with Konanbanny as well.

“The best receivers in the class have definitely stayed local, and if I went to USC, I’d be competing against the best every day, which would help me improve,” Konanbanny explained. “That’s really been the message: to stay home.”

No matter if he ends up in Columbia, Gainesville, or Knoxville, he is clear about what he will bring to his future team.

“Expect maturity,” Konanbanny stated. “I will focus on my academics and then come out, lock down receivers, and make plays.”
