BREAKING; Vikings Eye Super Bowl-Winning QB in Stunning Move to Challenge J.J. McCarthy!

So far this offseason, the Minnesota Vikings have chosen not to sign a veteran quarterback, signaling confidence in rookie J.J. McCarthy as their starter for 2025. Still, even with McCarthy expected to take the reins, adding an experienced backup would be a smart move—and Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox believes Joe Flacco could be the ideal fit.

“Despite the buzz linking the Vikings to Aaron Rodgers—especially after Kevin O’Connell revealed Rodgers had reached out to the team—Joe Flacco makes far more sense,” Knox wrote. “He proved last season with the Colts that he can support a young quarterback and step in when needed, all without bringing the media frenzy that comes with someone like Rodgers.”

Flacco, who started six games for Indianapolis in 2024, threw for 1,761 yards with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He completed 65.3% of his passes and finished the year with a 90.5 passer rating—nearly identical to his performance in Cleveland the year before, when he earned NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors.

At 40, Flacco is no longer a full-time starter, but he remains one of the league’s top veteran backups and could offer valuable mentorship to McCarthy. The longtime Baltimore Raven led the team to a Super Bowl title in the 2012 season and has since played for four other franchises in various backup and spot-start roles.

If Minnesota wants a reliable, steady presence behind McCarthy, Flacco could be the best available option.
