BREAKING; Vikings Shock NFL by Cutting Player They Just Traded For — Here’s Why It Happened!

The Minnesota Vikings are finalizing their 90-man roster ahead of the offseason, with several key defensive positions still needing depth before the 2025 NFL Draft. One area of concern is the cornerback group. While veterans Stephon Gilmore and Shaquill Griffin contributed in 2024, both remain free agents.

The current cornerback core includes Byron Murphy Jr., Isaiah Rodgers, and Tavierre Thomas, providing a solid foundation. However, there’s some uncertainty surrounding Mekhi Blackmon, who is working his way back from a torn ACL suffered in July 2024.

In a notable roster move, the Vikings released a veteran cornerback on Monday. According to the NFL’s transaction wire, the team waived Nahshon Wright, whom they had acquired from the Dallas Cowboys during training camp last year in exchange for Andrew Booth. Wright was originally a third-round pick by Dallas in 2021, while the Vikings had drafted Booth in the second round in 2022.

Interestingly, the Cowboys later released Booth in November, making this trade a short-lived move for both teams.
