A woman was indicted on Thursday in connection with the tragic car crash on July 6 that claimed the lives of Minnesota Vikings rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson and two of his former high school teammates.
Cori Clingman has been charged with 13 offenses, including vehicular manslaughter related to driving under the influence, according to prosecutors in Prince George’s County, a suburb of Washington, D.C.
If convicted, Clingman faces up to 30 years in prison, said State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy. “This is just the beginning of our fight for justice for these three young men, their families, Wise High School, the NFL, and this entire community,” Braveboy stated.
It remains unclear whether Clingman has legal representation. She was arrested without incident and is scheduled for a bond review on Friday.
Jackson, a fourth-round draft pick for the Vikings in April, had previously played two seasons at Alabama before finishing his college career at Oregon. He, along with Isaiah Hazel, 23, died at the scene of the three-car crash, while Anthony Lytton Jr., 24, passed away later at a hospital.

The three were traveling together in the same vehicle when it was struck by another car that was speeding and changing lanes. Police believe Clingman’s vehicle made contact with theirs, causing the car to veer off the road and hit multiple tree stumps. Fortunately, no one was injured in the other two vehicles involved.
Hazel had played college football at Maryland and Charlotte, while Lytton had played at Florida State and Penn State. The three had previously won a state championship together at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School in Maryland.
