Auburn football has added a fourth quarterback to its roster this offseason, signing Tanner Bailey, according to 247Sports. Bailey, who was part of the 2022 recruiting class out of Gordo, Alabama, originally committed to South Carolina but decided to step away from football in January 2024. After a year off, he enrolled at Auburn as a student. Now, following his graduation in December, Bailey is returning to the field to pursue a second degree and rejoin football.
Bailey’s collegiate career included two seasons at South Carolina, where he appeared in one game for the Gamecocks. His return will add much-needed depth to Auburn’s quarterback position, especially as the team prepares for spring practices.
Auburn’s quarterback room has undergone significant changes since last season. In addition to Bailey, the Tigers have secured 5-star prospect Deuce Knight in the 2025 recruiting class, as well as Jackson Arnold, who transferred in from Oklahoma, and Ashton Daniels, who came over from Stanford.
