The Clemson Tigers have been making waves in the transfer portal, with several players departing the program. The latest exit is center Christian Reeves, who entered the portal on Monday, joining Asa Thomas, Del Jones, and Jake Heidbreder—none of whom have committed elsewhere yet.
One of the first Tigers to enter the portal, forward Chauncey Wiggins, has now found his next destination, becoming the first Clemson men’s basketball player to commit. Wiggins is set to join Florida State, where he’ll play under head coach Luke Loucks.
The 6-foot-11 forward spent three seasons at Clemson, averaging 5.6 points and 2.1 rebounds. His 2024-25 season was his best yet, posting 8.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game—a notable improvement from previous years. His consistent growth and adaptability make him a strong asset for the Seminoles.
Wiggins cited Florida State’s coaching staff as a key factor in his decision. “They’ve all coached at a very high level and in the NBA,” he told 247Sports, referencing their experience with stars like Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and De’Aaron Fox. He was particularly drawn to their player development expertise, believing they can help him reach the next level.
With Wiggins focused on his future, his transition to Florida State marks a fresh start. Meanwhile, Clemson continues to navigate the transfer portal, seeing departures but also preparing to welcome new talent, with three signees expected to help shape the program moving forward.
