HOT-NEWS: Vikings Key Offensive Lineman Named As Potential Cut Candidate This Offseason After A Disappointing Season

The Minnesota Vikings are facing a pivotal offseason, with general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah confronted with tough decisions regarding the team’s roster.

Nearly half the roster is set to hit free agency, and with limited draft picks, the Vikings’ front office has a lot to manage. The good news, however, is that the team has about $58 million in cap space, giving them some flexibility as they reshape the roster.

One of the most critical decisions revolves around offensive guard Ed Ingram, whose future in Minnesota is uncertain.

After a lackluster season that saw him lose his starting job, Ingram’s position with the team appears increasingly precarious. According to Star Tribune reporter Ben Goessling, it’s “highly unlikely” that Ingram will remain on the roster given his current cap hit.

Entering the final year of his contract with a $3.7 million cap hit—more than double the $1.6 million from the previous year—Ingram’s contract adds another layer of complexity.

Goessling suggests that the Vikings could move on from Ingram with only $385,000 in dead cap space, making it a feasible financial decision.

His underperformance, reflected in a poor Pro Football Focus grade of 54.0, ranking him 100th out of 135 guards, has raised doubts about his value. With these disappointing stats and an escalating cap hit, the Vikings are likely to explore other options at the guard position.
