After a rough stretch of bad news in Atlanta, the Braves are finally riding a wave of positives — the latest involving Ronald Acuña Jr.
The star outfielder recently traveled to Los Angeles to consult with doctors, hoping to get the green light for more intense physical activity. According to Justin Toscano, that clearance came through today, although there’s still no official timeline for Acuña’s return.
The good news started with Sean Murphy’s return to the lineup, where the All-Star catcher immediately gave a boost to the Braves’ offense. Then came word that Spencer Strider will make his 2025 debut on Wednesday in Toronto, with Alex Verdugo expected to suit up this weekend when the team returns home to Truist Park.

Now, it’s Acuña’s turn. The initial projection had him coming back sometime in May, and all signs suggest he’s right on schedule. The impact of having both Strider and Acuña healthy again can’t be overstated — even if they’re not at full strength, their presence is a clear upgrade for Atlanta’s rotation and outfield.
But if both players return to peak form, the Braves will once again be in serious contention for a World Series run. While the team will likely be cautious with Acuña’s return, there’s no doubt he’s eager to get back out there. “La Bestia” is nearly back!
