The New York Giants have wrapped up the major moves of their offseason, highlighted by two first-round draft picks and several notable signings, including quarterback Russell Wilson, safety Jevon Holland, and cornerback Paulson Adebo.
While the player acquisition phase is complete, the transition from minicamp to training camp brings critical decisions about the current 90-man roster. The coaching staff is focused on fielding the best 11 players at any given time. That goal starts with evaluating the lower end of the roster in hopes of uncovering developmental talent and reliable depth for the eventual 53-man squad come Week 1. This process will pick up again when training camp opens in late July.
On Tuesday, the Giants brought in four free agents for a look during minicamp.
Leading the group was safety K’Von Wallace, joined by fellow safety Millard Bradford, edge rusher Kenny Dyson, and offensive lineman Carter O’Donnell, according to Big Blue View.
Wallace had a tough stretch during limited play with the Seahawks in 2024, after spending the 2023 season with both the Cardinals and Titans. However, Giants fans may remember him best from his time with the Eagles. Known for his versatility, Wallace was used in multiple roles—against the run, on blitzes, and in free safety coverage—but his struggles in pass coverage have gradually diminished his defensive role. Nevertheless, his special teams experience keeps him in contention for a spot on the roster or practice squad.
Bradford’s only NFL experience so far has come on special teams. O’Donnell, an undrafted free agent from the 2020 class, has the flexibility to play both guard positions, though he only logged meaningful snaps in 2023 at left guard. Dyson, a smaller edge defender with limited athletic traits, saw action in just two games for the Panthers last season.
While late-offseason tryouts typically carry low odds of making the final roster, Wallace appears to have the best chance of sticking around through training camp. The team has yet to announce any roster changes following these workouts.
