The New York Giants are carefully evaluating quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft class. They met with several of the top prospects at the NFL Scouting Combine and are planning to host top-30 visits with the class’s quarterbacks.
Miami QB Cam Ward is widely regarded as the top quarterback in this draft class and is expected to be the first overall pick in April. Although the Giants hold the third overall pick, they are still thoroughly assessing Ward as part of their scouting efforts this offseason.
Giants GM Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll will be attending Ward’s Pro Day, according to Art Stapleton of North Jersey. The duo has made it a habit of attending Pro Days for top quarterback prospects in recent drafts, and with no long-term solution at quarterback, they will continue this trend.
While the Giants have shown interest in veteran quarterbacks, including Jameis Winston, Aaron Rodgers, and Russell Wilson, none are viewed as the long-term answer at the position. With the third pick, the Giants are in a good position to select one of the top quarterbacks in the draft, though Ward will likely be off the board by the time their pick arrives.
It’s expected that the Tennessee Titans, who hold the first overall pick, will take Ward, but the Giants have been exploring the possibility of trading up to secure him. Ward, a 2024 Heisman finalist, threw for 4,313 yards and posted a 39-7 TD-INT ratio last season. If the Giants can secure Ward, he could provide them with a future franchise quarterback.
