The spotlight is shining brightly on the stars in New York and Los Angeles in the latest edition of MLB.com’s Hitter Power Rankings.
Big names from the Yankees, Mets, and Dodgers are lighting up the stat sheets even more than they were two weeks ago. The rankings, crafted by MLB.com’s data team, weigh players’ recent and season-long performance most heavily, along with their stats over the past year.
Here’s a look at the newest top hitters in the league, based on games through Tuesday:
1. Aaron Judge, Yankees (Last Rank: 1)
Judge remains locked in at the top. He’s off to a historic start, hitting over .400 and leading MLB in nearly every major offensive category — batting average (.410), OBP (.497), slugging (.770), OPS (1.268), homers (14), and RBIs (40). He’s chasing the Triple Crown and dominating every at-bat.

2. Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers (Last Rank: 4)
Ohtani is heating up and making another strong MVP case. He’s hitting .302 with 12 homers, 10 steals, a 1.035 OPS, and a league-leading 44 runs scored. With double-digit power and speed already, he’s pacing for another 40-40 season.
3. Freddie Freeman, Dodgers (New Entry)
Freeman joins the rankings in style, tearing through opposing pitchers. He leads the NL in batting (.366), OBP (.431), slugging (.714), and OPS (1.145). Since early May, he’s hitting an incredible .442 with 4 home runs and 16 RBIs.
4. Pete Alonso, Mets (Last Rank: 2)
Alonso is having another monster year. He tops the NL in doubles (15) and RBIs (36), with a .310 average and 1.008 OPS. He also has 9 homers and recently delivered a walk-off sac fly against top rookie Paul Skenes.
5. Juan Soto, Yankees (New Entry)
Soto’s “slow” start has given way to a scorching May. He’s posted a 1.077 OPS this month with five home runs, including two multi-homer games, showing why he’s still one of the most dangerous bats in baseball.
