For the first time in three weeks, the Minnesota Vikings’ injury report ahead of their Week 10 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars did not list linebacker Blake Cashman with a DNP (Did Not Practice) designation. That’s because Cashman was back on the field Wednesday for his first practice since Week 5.
A turf toe injury has kept Cashman out of the Vikings’ last three games, but even though he was limited in Wednesday’s session, his return to practice is a positive sign for his potential availability on Sunday against the Jaguars.
Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell spoke about the importance of Cashman’s potential return, noting, “Blake’s really confident and absolutely dying to get back out there with the guys. Hopefully, it’s this week, and we’ll see how he handles the workload.”
As for the Jaguars, they had 12 players listed on their initial Week 10 injury report, including starting guards Ezra Cleveland and Brandon Scherff, both of whom were not participants in Wednesday’s practice.
Quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s status is also in question after being limited in practice due to a shoulder injury.
In response, Jacksonville signed quarterback C.J. Beathard from the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad on Wednesday. However, Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson clarified that the signing was simply to add another veteran arm for practice while Lawrence manages his injury.
Lawrence has only missed one game in his NFL career since being drafted by the Jaguars in 2021.
