Notre Dame Football Making Moves With Top 2027 QB and 4-Star WR Target
The Notre Dame football program continues to ride a wave of recruiting momentum, and the next target on the radar is a quarterback for the future. Head coach Marcus Freeman and his staff are preparing to host Hank Hendrix, one of the top quarterbacks in the 2027 class, on a key early visit.
What makes Hendrix’s upcoming trip to South Bend on May 21 stand out isn’t just his talent—it’s also the fact that he hails from Arkansas, a state that rarely produces Fighting Irish recruits. But recent quarterback success has prompted the Irish to broaden their recruiting map.
According to On3’s Industry Rankings, Hendrix ranks as the top player in Arkansas and the No. 19 QB nationally for 2027. The 6-foot-2, 165-pound signal-caller still has time to grow physically, but he’s already putting up eye-popping numbers: a 70% completion rate, 4,237 passing yards, and 40 touchdowns, earning him District Player of the Year honors.
Notre Dame QB coach Gino Guidugli has reportedly kept close tabs on Hendrix, hoping to build early momentum in his recruitment. So far, Hendrix’s Power Four offers are limited, with Arkansas and Texas Tech showing the most interest. But the Irish have a chance to gain ground quickly with this initial visit, kicking off what could be a long-term pursuit.
Notre Dame Gains Ground With 4-Star WR Brayden Robinson After Visit Reshuffle
Meanwhile, Marcus Freeman isn’t slowing down with the current recruiting class either. After a string of high-profile commitments, Notre Dame appears to be gaining serious traction with 4-star wide receiver Brayden Robinson.
Robinson, long on the Irish’s radar, has recently adjusted his official visit schedule in a way that favors Notre Dame. After canceling his trip to Ohio State—a major rival in his recruitment—he’s now scheduled to be in South Bend on June 13.
Why is the new date important? He’ll now be visiting alongside key targets Kaydon Finley and Kohen Brown, giving the Irish a prime opportunity to make a group impression. These shared visits often create a ripple effect, helping build camaraderie and even influencing joint commitments.
Robinson’s interest has spiked since the Irish landed running back Javian Osborne, and many believe he’s now a Notre Dame lean. If all goes well in June, Robinson could not only commit himself—but help reel in more top-tier talent alongside him.
