The Minnesota Vikings (14-2) announced on Saturday that they will elevate outside linebacker Gabriel Murphy and linebacker Calvin Munson ahead of their Week 18 matchup against the Detroit Lions (14-2).
Murphy, an undrafted rookie, has previously been elevated once this season, where he played 28 defensive snaps and one special teams snap against the Falcons. During that game, he recorded one tackle and one quarterback hit.
In addition, the Vikings ruled out outside linebacker Pat Jones II for the game, as he suffered a knee injury in last week’s match against the Packers.
Munson, who turned 30 on December 27, joined the Vikings practice squad in October and will be elevated for the first time since joining the team.

Over his career, he has played 51 games with the Giants, Dolphins, and Patriots. Munson started five games with the Giants in 2017, posting five tackles for loss and two sacks. The San Diego State product has logged 685 special teams snaps and 546 defensive snaps in the NFL.
This Week 18 game will determine the winner of the NFC North and award the top seed in the NFC playoffs, which includes a first-round bye and home-field advantage. The loser of the game will be seeded No. 5 and will have to play on the road during the Wild Card Round.
