The Minnesota Vikings have multiple options to consider for their quarterback situation this offseason.

Fields, who was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, spent the 2024 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. At just 25 years old, Fields wouldn’t necessarily step in as the Vikings’ starting quarterback in Gagnon’s scenario. Instead, he could serve as a dynamic offensive weapon.
“While Fields may never develop into a traditionally elite quarterback, in the right system, he could thrive as a game-changing playmaker,” Gagnon wrote on January 22. “Picture him in a unique role with the Vikings—imagine the possibilities.”
In 2024, Fields completed 65.8% of his passes for 1,106 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He also rushed for 289 yards and 5 touchdowns on 62 carries. Notably, he set career highs in completion percentage, passer rating, and air yards per attempt, showcasing his growth and potential.
