However, it’s time for them to start thinking about their future at quarterback. Sam Darnold began the season as an MVP candidate, but a disappointing game against the New York Jets, followed by an average performance against the Lions, has diminished his earlier success.
Despite this, Darnold remains a valuable asset on a one-year, $10 million deal, and the Vikings are still serious contenders in the NFC with a third of the season gone. Some analysts are now suggesting that the Vikings should explore upgrading their quarterback position to capitalize on their unexpected chance to compete for a Super Bowl in 2024. Timo Riske of Pro Football Focus recently tweeted that the Vikings should consider trading for Matthew Stafford, especially with the Rams currently struggling against the Raiders.
