Lakers’ Star Injury Update: Return Timeline Revealed—What It Means for Their Playoff Push!

After a four-game losing streak, the Los Angeles Lakers have bounced back with consecutive wins, defeating the Phoenix Suns 107-96 and the San Antonio Spurs 125-109. While head coach JJ Redick has Luka Doncic back in action, the team is still without superstar LeBron James. The Lakers face a challenging matchup on Wednesday, March 19, against the Denver Nuggets at Crypto Arena.

Will LeBron James Play Against the Nuggets?
LeBron aggravated a groin injury during the Lakers’ game against the Boston Celtics on March 8. Since then, he has undergone multiple physical evaluations to determine the severity of the injury and track his recovery. Initial reports suggested he would miss one to two weeks, with a return expected before the playoffs begin in mid-April. However, LeBron will definitely miss the game against the Nuggets.

When Will LeBron Return?
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, LeBron, who completed his first on-court workout on Sunday, is expected to remain sidelined until at least next week. His potential return date is March 24, when the Lakers visit the Orlando Magic. Meanwhile, Rui Hachimura, who has been dealing with patellar tendinopathy, is likely to return this week.

LeBron has been a key contributor this season, averaging 25.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game while shooting 51.7% from the field and 38.4% from three-point range. Despite his absence, the Lakers have managed to stay competitive in the Western Conference, currently sitting in fourth place. His return will be crucial as the team aims to solidify its playoff positioning.
