MAJOR-BREAKING: Braves Set To Trade For $4.5 Million Star After Jurickson Profar Suspension

The Atlanta Braves are in urgent need of replacing outfielder Jurickson Profar after he was handed an 80-game suspension for failing a drug test. To make matters worse, Profar will also be ineligible for the postseason if the Braves manage to make it that far. Recently, FanSided’s Jacob Mountz suggested that the Braves could pursue a blockbuster trade for injured Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sánchez to fill the void left by Profar.

“Sánchez consistently makes solid contact and boasts impressive exit velocities. However, his performance has not been as productive as expected,” Mountz noted. “In 2024, Sánchez posted a .252/.313/.417/.731 line with 18 home runs over 489 at-bats. His left-handed bat would benefit from the power-friendly confines of Atlanta, but his strikeout rate held back his on-base percentage last season. If the Braves can address this issue, they could transform Sánchez into a dangerous slugger.”

But Sánchez offers more than just power. He also showcased his speed last season, stealing 16 bases in 18 attempts, demonstrating a strong ability to swipe bags with a high success rate. Considering the Marlins’ lack of contention in the NL, it’s likely that key players like Sánchez could be moved at the trade deadline.

Among the available options, Sánchez could fly under the radar as he’s currently injured and under team control for several more years. However, the Braves would be much better off landing him as a Profar replacement. Sánchez has shown flashes of breakout potential year after year, and if he can put it all together once he returns from injury, he could evolve into a player capable of hitting 20 home runs and stealing 20 bases.
