The Boston Bruins have extended veteran forward Patrick Brown with a one-year, two-way deal carrying an NHL cap hit of \$775,000, the team announced Tuesday.
Brown originally joined the Bruins on a two-year, \$1.6 million contract signed on the opening day of free agency in 2023. His leadership and experience earned him the captaincy of the Providence Bruins, making him the 27th player in franchise history to wear the “C” under head coach Ryan Mougenel.

Over two seasons with Providence, Brown notched 28 goals and 50 assists in 98 games. During the 2024-25 season, he was especially productive — leading the team with 10 power-play goals, ranking fourth in total goals (17), second in assists (19), and third in overall points. He also appeared in 15 NHL games for Boston this season, recording one assist.
Throughout his AHL career, Brown has played in 501 games across stints with Providence, Henderson, Chicago, and Charlotte, accumulating 232 points (91 goals, 141 assists). The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Michigan native also has 164 NHL games under his belt with Boston, Ottawa, Philadelphia, Vegas, and Carolina, contributing 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points.
