MAJOR-BREAKING: Projected $20 Million Star Predicted To Ditch Yankees For NL West Contender.

The New York Yankees are heavily focused on securing Juan Soto, which has shifted much of the attention away from other free agents, including their own second baseman, Gleyber Torres. Torres, who Spotrac predicts will sign a three-year, $20 million deal this offseason, is currently overshadowed by the Soto sweepstakes.

The Yankees have been exploring options for potential replacements, such as the possibility of moving Jazz Chisholm Jr. to second base by adding a third baseman. However, if the Yankees decide not to re-sign Torres, who could land him?

Nick Villano of FanSided recently suggested that Torres could leave the Yankees, projecting that he will sign with the San Francisco Giants. According to Villano, the Giants are looking to bolster their roster to challenge the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West.

The Giants are looking to make moves this offseason, and Torres will be one of them. They have a need at second base, and they could use more offensive help in that division,” Villano wrote. “Torres may not be their biggest signing, but it would bring them closer to competing, even with the Dodgers and Padres in their division.”

While a move to the Giants makes sense, it’s hard to imagine the Yankees letting Torres go, especially for a contract worth less than $10 million per year. A more likely scenario would see Torres signing for around $15 million annually. If the Giants are willing to offer a larger deal than the Yankees, Torres could find himself heading to the Bay Area.
