MAJOR-BREAKING: Surprise Move As Giants Miss Out on QB, Shockingly Select Elite Pass-Rusher in Bold Draft Move

The New York Giants are still searching for their quarterback of the future as the 2025 NFL Draft approaches. After signing veteran QB Jameis Winston in free agency, the Giants are set to target a quarterback early in April’s draft. However, with the third overall pick and two quarterback-hungry teams ahead of them, the Giants may miss out on the top two quarterback prospects. What will their next move be if they face this dilemma?

In a recent mock draft from Josh Liskiewitz of Pro Football Focus, this situation was explored. In this scenario, Miami QB Cam Ward was selected first overall by the Tennessee Titans, and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders went second overall to the Cleveland Browns. This left the Giants with a tough choice: select the third-best quarterback or take the best available player?

Rather than reach for a quarterback, Liskiewitz predicted the Giants would choose Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter.

Bottom Line: Carter brings a lot of Micah Parsons vibes—he not only wears No. 11 but also stands out with his athleticism and makes an impact on nearly every play,” Liskiewitz explained. “With some added strength, he has All-Pro potential and is deserving of a top-five pick.”

Taking Carter would be a solid fallback for the Giants if they miss out on a quarterback. His “All-Pro potential” as a dynamic pass rusher could help solidify New York’s defensive line for 2025.

Abdul Carter’s skills are likely to turn heads among scouts, analysts, and NFL teams. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound powerhouse is regarded by many as one of the best prospects in this draft class.

In 2024, Carter earned All-American honors after leading the nation with 24 tackles for loss. He also recorded 12 sacks, 68 tackles, two forced fumbles, and four pass breakups. His 92.4 PFF pass-rush grade ranked second among FBS edge defenders.
