In a recent mock draft from Josh Liskiewitz of Pro Football Focus, this situation was explored. In this scenario, Miami QB Cam Ward was selected first overall by the Tennessee Titans, and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders went second overall to the Cleveland Browns. This left the Giants with a tough choice: select the third-best quarterback or take the best available player?
Rather than reach for a quarterback, Liskiewitz predicted the Giants would choose Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter.

In 2024, Carter earned All-American honors after leading the nation with 24 tackles for loss. He also recorded 12 sacks, 68 tackles, two forced fumbles, and four pass breakups. His 92.4 PFF pass-rush grade ranked second among FBS edge defenders.
