The TCU Women’s Basketball season came to a close on Monday in the Elite Eight, marking the final collegiate game for many of their star players. However, Coach Mark Campbell and his staff wasted no time getting to work on the offseason, focused on rebuilding the roster and aiming to take the program to new heights in the 2025-26 season. The first major move of the offseason came on Tuesday with the announcement that TCU had secured the commitment of Kentucky center Clara Silva through the transfer portal.
Silva, a 6-foot-7 center from Faro, Portugal, has been a standout at the international level since 2021, dominating at the U18 European competitions in 2023 and 2024. During the 2024 U18 Women’s EuroBasket, she averaged 18.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.

As a freshman at Kentucky, Silva played in 31 games for the Wildcats, contributing 4 points (on 56.5% shooting), 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in just over 12 minutes per game, helping Kentucky make it to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. Her performance earned her SEC Freshman of the Week honors after her first two games, where she combined for 32 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 11 blocks.
With three years of eligibility left, Silva will be a key addition to the Horned Frogs, filling the gap at center following the graduation of Sedona Prince and Deasia Merrill.
