The Buffalo Bills had a strong 2024 season, finishing with a 13-4 record. However, their campaign ended on a disappointing note when they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in a thrilling 32-29 game in the AFC Championship. Looking ahead to the 2025 season, one area where the Bills could improve is their wide receiver corps.
The team’s most reliable receiver last season was Khalil Shakir, who recorded 76 receptions, 821 yards, and four touchdowns from 100 targets. In an effort to enhance the roster with more high-caliber talent, Jarrett Bailey of USA TODAY’s Touchdown Wire suggests the Bills could bring back their former star wide receiver, Stefon Diggs, reuniting him with quarterback Josh Allen.
Bailey notes that while Diggs will turn 32 this year and is running out of time to win a Super Bowl, he can still perform at a high level. Diggs had been on track for his fifth consecutive 100-catch season before suffering an ACL injury.
Both Diggs and Allen have publicly expressed their mutual respect and affection for one another. Prior to the injury, Diggs was performing well with the Houston Texans, starting eight games and accumulating 47 receptions, 496 yards, and three touchdowns on 64 targets.
From 2020 to 2023, Diggs and Allen formed one of the most dynamic duos in the NFL, with Diggs making four straight Pro Bowls and earning a First-Team All-Pro selection. Over those seasons, Diggs amassed 445 receptions, 5,372 yards, and 37 touchdowns.
If the Bills are interested in reviving their successful partnership, bringing Diggs back might not be financially prohibitive, as Spotrac estimates his market value at $13.7 million per year.
