The Buffalo Bills’ secondary was exposed during their AFC Championship loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in January, and now a potential solution has suddenly appeared. On April 15, Miami Dolphins GM Chris Grier announced that the team and star cornerback Jalen Ramsey have mutually agreed to explore a trade — opening the door for a blockbuster move.
That same evening on SportsCenter, ESPN insider Adam Schefter named the Bills as a top contender to land the 30-year-old All-Pro. With a glaring need in the secondary and a win-now roster, Buffalo could be the perfect landing spot.
Ramsey is under contract through 2028, having signed a three-year, $72 million extension with Miami. He started all 17 games last season and, while he didn’t make the Pro Bowl, he still finished as Pro Football Focus’s No. 10-rated cornerback.
His resume speaks for itself: seven Pro Bowls, three First-Team All-Pro selections, and a career stat line that includes 108 pass breakups, 24 interceptions, and 6 forced fumbles across stops in Jacksonville, L.A., and Miami.
The Bills gave up 4,100 passing yards in 2024, ranking 22nd in the NFL, and their 28 passing touchdowns allowed tied for 25th. Bringing in a corner of Ramsey’s caliber would be a major upgrade — and possibly the missing piece in a Super Bowl-caliber defense.
