MAJOR-NEWS: Giants Rival Just Made a Huge Mistake — and It Could Hand New York the NFC East Crown!

The New York Giants currently sit at the bottom of the NFC East, but after an aggressive offseason, the message is clear—they’re aiming for a return to the top of the division. Standing in their way are the defending NFC East champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, and a Washington Commanders team that shocked many with their performance last season. For the Giants to seriously contend in 2025, they’ll need to take a big step forward—and hope their rivals stumble a bit.

Expecting the Eagles to regress seems unrealistic given how well their roster is built. The Commanders, however, may be more vulnerable. In a recent Bleacher Report article analyzing one fatal flaw for 10 Super Bowl contenders, writer Moe Moton identified Washington’s defensive line as a potential weak spot that could derail their season.

While current contract issues with star wide receiver Terry McLaurin could be resolved with an extension, Moton argues the defensive front lacks the talent needed to consistently pressure opposing quarterbacks—and that’s not an issue with an easy fix.

Giants rival may have made a fatal mistake (and it could decide the NFC East )

Washington won several tight games in 2024 largely because of their offense, but as Moton notes, relying solely on offense isn’t a sustainable formula in the NFL. The most successful teams are those with a defense—particularly a defensive line—that can close out games. At this point, there’s no sign Washington has that in 2025.

That might spell trouble for Commanders fans hoping to see continued success—but it could be a crucial opening for the Giants. If Washington falters due to a weak pass rush, it could give New York the opportunity it needs to climb back into the NFC East race. Of course, that all depends on whether the Giants can improve and capitalize on the moment.
