The Minnesota Vikings are gearing up for a crucial divisional clash with the Chicago Bears in Week 12. Entering the game on a three-game winning streak, the Vikings will need to remain focused. Fortunately, they received some positive news regarding starting quarterback Sam Darnold’s injury status ahead of the matchup.
Darnold has been dealing with a foot injury that raised concerns about his availability, as he was limited during Wednesday’s practice. However, he fully participated in Thursday’s practice and is expected to play against the Bears on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Darnold had also been listed on the injury report for Week 11 due to a right hand issue, but he played through it and delivered a strong performance, passing for 246 yards and two touchdowns in the Vikings’ 23-13 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The hope is that his recovery from the foot injury will proceed smoothly as he prepares for the Week 12 game.
ClutchPoints’ Shane Shoemaker made several bold predictions for the Vikings’ matchup against the Bears, including one for Darnold. Despite his hand issue, Darnold played well against Tennessee, completing 20 of 32 passes for 246 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. However, he still leads the league in turnovers with 14, including a lost fumble last week.
Shoemaker pointed out that the Bears’ defense has forced five fumbles and intercepted nine passes this season, making it bold to predict a turnover-free performance from Darnold. Nonetheless, he predicted that Darnold will throw for 230 yards, at least one touchdown, and avoid turnovers.
