The Kentucky Wildcats recently suffered significant losses with Deone Walker declaring for the NFL and Keeshawn Silver opting to transfer, leaving the team without two of their top defensive tackles. Both players played the same position, making these departures particularly impactful. To address these gaps, Kentucky turned to the transfer portal, and they’ve made their first move by adding defensive tackle Jaden Williams.
Williams, a standout at Wyoming, is a formidable 6’4″ and 290 pounds, known for his ability to stop the run. He had an impressive 20 tackles and 0.5 sacks during the 2024 season, playing in all of the Cowboys’ games. Several schools, including Kansas State, Arizona State, Georgia, Minnesota, and Kentucky, were vying for his services.
While Williams’ arrival fills only one of the two crucial spots left by Walker and Silver, it’s a solid addition for Kentucky. With two years of eligibility remaining, Williams is expected to contribute to the Wildcats’ defensive line for more than just a single season, adding stability to the position over the next couple of years.

This marks Kentucky’s 10th addition through the transfer portal as they continue to rebuild their roster. The team has already seen more than 20 departures, and with the portal period in full swing, they’re making significant strides in addressing those losses. Williams’ commitment is the third addition for Kentucky in just one day, following wide receiver Kendrick Law from Alabama and running back Dante Dowdell from Nebraska.
The Wildcats’ transfer portal activity is heating up, and the team is closely tracking all the changes. Updates to their transfer portal tracker, which includes both additions and NFL Draft departures, are being made regularly as the offseason progresses.
