Notre Dame’s new running backs coach, Ja’Juan Seider, has quickly made a significant impact, and his efforts are beginning to pay off. Just last weekend, the Fighting Irish secured a commitment from four-star running back Javian Osborne. Now, Seider is poised to add another elite talent to the roster: four-star prospect Jonaz Walton.
Walton, a standout from Carrollton, Georgia, recently described his unofficial visit to Notre Dame as “amazing,” sparking optimism among the Notre Dame faithful. With such positive feedback, many anticipate that Walton could soon announce his commitment to the Fighting Irish.
The 5-foot-9, 190-pound Walton is ranked as the No. 58 overall player and the No. 4 running back in the 2026 class by On3. He holds offers from a plethora of top-tier programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and Florida State, among others. Despite this competitive field, Notre Dame remains a strong contender for his services.
Walton’s impressive high school career includes over 5,600 total yards and 63 touchdowns across three seasons. His dynamic playmaking ability and consistent performance have made him one of the most sought-after recruits in his class.
Should Walton choose to commit to Notre Dame, it would not only bolster the running back position but also signify a major victory in the ongoing recruiting battle with SEC powerhouses. With Seider’s guidance and Walton’s talent, the future of Notre Dame’s backfield looks exceptionally promising.
