MAJOR News: Pittsburgh Steelers lose key defensive tackle for several weeks to knee injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without Montravius Adams, a key rotational pass rusher and interior defensive lineman, for several weeks after he aggravated a knee injury during Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. To provide depth while Adams is sidelined, they have re-signed nose tackle Breiden Fehoko. Head coach Mike Tomlin has not provided a timeline for Adams’ return.

Adams initially injured his knee during practice on Friday and was listed as questionable for the game, but the Steelers cleared him to play on Saturday. He managed just one snap before exiting the game and did not return.

Last season, Adams also suffered a knee injury that kept him out for four weeks. He is expected to miss games up until the team’s November 17 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. With DeMarvin Leal already out for the season due to a neck injury, Dean Lowry and Isaiahh Loudermilk will need to take on larger roles, significantly impacting the team’s depth in their interior pass rush.
