South Carolina hosted four official visitors for the Missouri game weekend, all of whom were committed to other programs. However, the Gamecocks have yet to flip any commitments. On Monday, offensive coordinator Jimmy Bryson and offensive tackle Kevin Peay both confirmed they are staying committed to Georgia Tech.
Two other visitors are still evaluating their options, though they remain committed to their current schools. Hammond tight end Mike Tyler, committed to LSU, told Lou Bezjak of *The State* that he may visit Baton Rouge again next weekend but won’t make a final decision until Signing Day on December 4th.
Cornerback Michael Clayton (6-1, 180) from Warner Robins, GA, has been committed to Rutgers since early June. However, his second visit to South Carolina this season has left him with a lot to think about, especially after his experience at the Missouri game.
“It gave me a lot to think about. It gave me a broader view of South Carolina, but I am still committed to Rutgers,” Clayton said. “I’ve still got a lot to think about. I still haven’t made a decision. Hopefully, I’ll know a couple of days before Signing Day.”
Clayton witnessed the Gamecocks’ thrilling victory over Missouri, where they secured an SEC win in the final moments. When Rocket Sanders scored the winning touchdown with 15 seconds remaining, the crowd’s reaction reportedly triggered an earthquake warning at Williams-Brice Stadium.
“It was great, it was a great game,” Clayton said. “I loved the atmosphere and the crowd. Just the whole experience was good, being around the players, coaches, and staff gave me an in-depth view of what South Carolina is about.”
Clayton paid close attention to the Gamecock secondary and how defensive backs coach Torrian Gray moved his players around.

“I noticed that they are very good at what they do,” Clayton said. “There were a couple of plays where they got beat over the top, but they are very physical and always in position. All the DBs are versatile—they can play corner, safety, or nickel in one game.”
Clayton spent time with his close friends on the team, Jalon and Gerald Gilgore, whom he’s known since childhood. They all ran track together, and their families are close. He also got some quality time with USC head coach Shane Beamer.
“He was just explaining to me how family-oriented the team is and how they all play together,” Clayton said. “He explained that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but at the end of the day, they are a family. The togetherness of the team and their shared goal is what brings them success.”
Clayton completed his senior season with 42 total tackles, including 34 solo tackles. He also blocked two field goals, one punt, forced one fumble, and scored three touchdowns.
