MAJOR-NEWS: Unexpected Outcome As Ex-Giants QB Daniel Jones Set to Leave Vikings for Thrilling New Opportunity.

Daniel Jones is no longer the starting quarterback for the New York Giants, having parted ways with the team on November 22. He is now a member of the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad, but many believe his stay there will be short-lived.

In a December 2 article for Bleacher Report, NFL analyst Matt Holder predicts that Jones will likely join another team after this season. He suggests that the Miami Dolphins could be a good fit for the quarterback, a sentiment shared by others.

Holder explains that the Dolphins are looking for a solid backup quarterback and notes that although Tua Tagovailoa has been playing well, his injury history makes it important for the team to have a reliable backup. He sees Jones as a quarterback who could thrive in Miami’s offense under the guidance of head coach Mike McDaniel.

A quarterback like Daniel Jones could progress behind the scenes, working with a strong offensive mind,” Holder writes. “If pressed into action, he’d have the opportunity to play with talented players like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and De’Von Achane.”

Brad Gagnon from Bleacher Report also believes that Jones could land with the Dolphins next season, calling him “a high-end backup for Tua Tagovailoa.”

Before Jones joined the Vikings, there were already rumors linking him to Miami. In a November 27 article for PhinPhanatic, Brian Miller argued that although Jones might not have made the Dolphins Super Bowl contenders, he would have provided more experience than current backup Skylar Thompson.

Miller pointed out that the Dolphins could have afforded to bring in Jones without much financial strain. “How much worse would he have been than the current Miami backup?” Miller asked.

However, Alain Poupart from Sports Illustrated is less convinced that Jones is the right choice for Miami. In a November 24 piece, Poupart questioned whether Jones would perform better than Thompson if called upon, stating that adding Jones wouldn’t solve the backup quarterback issue. “Jones is not a savior for the backup quarterback situation,” Poupart wrote, adding that any potential move would likely not have a significant impact on the field.

Ultimately, while some see Jones as a potentially interesting addition for Miami, others believe that the backup quarterback situation won’t be resolved until the offseason.
