MAJOR-NEWS: Unexpected Outcome As Vikings QB Makes Head-Turning Move Amid Uncertain Future in Minnesota

The Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback room now includes a trio of former first-round draft picks: starter Sam Darnold, injured rookie No. 10 overall pick J.J. McCarthy, and Daniel Jones, who is currently on the Vikings’ practice squad after being released by the New York Giants.

Jones, who is the newest addition to the group, recently made a thoughtful gesture toward his former teammates. Despite no longer being with the Giants, Jones sent a limited edition bottle of Clase Azul tequila to every offensive lineman he played with.

“Daniel Jones with a class move,” reported ESPN’s Jordan Ranaan on X on December 20. “Though he’s no longer the Giants QB, he sent Clase Azul bottles to all the O-linemen on the roster.”

Clase Azul bottles can range from around $100 to several thousand dollars, depending on the type of tequila and the retailer.

Although Jones’ future with the Vikings is unclear, he has already been generously compensated. He signed a four-year, $160 million contract with the Giants in 2023 and has earned $108.1 million in his career, according to Over The Cap.

The Giants are dealing with a $69.3 million dead cap charge spread over two seasons, with $47.1 million of that hitting their 2024 cap, making it the second-largest single-season cap hit in NFL history. The only larger hit belongs to Russell Wilson’s $53 million charge, part of a $85 million penalty for the Denver Broncos.
