After recovering from Tommy John surgery, Pereira has been making steady progress in his rehab and is expected to be ready to contribute this year. I think he can play into the mix for us.”
There’s reason to be excited. In his time at Triple-A, Pereira posted a solid .265/.346/.512 line, hitting 10 homers and driving in 27 RBIs in just 40 games. His 120 wRC+ points to his offensive potential, showing that when he connects, he can really drive the ball. However, his power comes with a downside—poor plate discipline. With high strikeout rates and a tendency to chase pitches outside the strike zone, his transition to the majors could be a bit rocky.
