NBA Drama: Former Bucks First-Round Pick MarJon Beauchamp Shockingly Waived by Clippers After Failed Experiment!

The Milwaukee Bucks emerged as one of the most active teams ahead of the NBA trade deadline, orchestrating multiple impactful moves. Their headline transaction involved sending Khris Middleton to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Kyle Kuzma. As part of this deal, the Bucks also traded AJ Johnson Jr. to Washington and acquired Patrick Baldwin Jr., who was subsequently flipped to the San Antonio Spurs for cash considerations. In a separate but equally significant move, Milwaukee traded former first-round pick MarJon Beauchamp to the Los Angeles Clippers for Kevin Porter Jr.—a dynamic addition who has quickly bolstered the Bucks’ bench with his scoring versatility and defensive tenacity. Porter’s contributions in his initial seven games have already surpassed Beauchamp’s output during his 2.5-season stint with Milwaukee.

Beauchamp’s journey took another turn when the Clippers waived him on Saturday, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania. During his limited time with both the Bucks (126 games, averaging 4.2 points and 2.0 rebounds in 11.4 minutes) and the Clippers (3 games, 4.0 points in 5.7 minutes), the forward struggled to secure a consistent role. His release cleared a roster spot for Jordan Miller, previously on a two-way contract.

Intriguingly, the Clippers utilized their newly vacant two-way slot to sign Patrick Baldwin Jr., a Milwaukee-area native and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee product, adding a local connection to their developmental roster. This series of moves underscores the Bucks’ aggressive reshuffling to enhance competitiveness, while the Clippers continue refining their roster dynamics.
