The Green Bay Packers have signed wide receiver Malik Knowles to their practice squad. A standout from Kansas State, Knowles thrived as both a receiver and a kickoff returner during his collegiate career.
Prior to joining Kansas State, Knowles had a notable senior season at Mansfield Lake Ridge High School, finishing with 850 yards and 17 touchdowns, which earned him a 3-star rating. Over his college career, he recorded 50 catches for 701 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 14 yards per catch, and also rushed for 170 yards and one touchdown. He ranks second all-time at K-State with 1,691 career kickoff return yards and has the fourth-most kickoff return touchdowns with three, along with a 27.7 kickoff return average, placing him seventh all-time
Throughout his three years at Kansas State, Knowles earned All-America honors twice: first as a return specialist in 2021 and then as an all-purpose player in 2022. After finishing with 1,867 receiving yards over five seasons, he entered the NFL Draft and received an invitation to the 2023 NFL Combine.
Knowles is recognized for his quick route-running, especially in longer routes, and possesses reliable hands, making him effective in contested situations. He showcased his athleticism in open space. The Minnesota Vikings signed him as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2023, but waived him an injury designation on August 27, 2023.
In the preseason, he had one reception for one yard and a touchdown in a game against the Cleveland Browns, helping the Vikings secure a 27-12 victory.
