WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – The Los Angeles Rams have tendered a contract offer to offensive lineman Dylan McMahon, an exclusive rights free agent, securing his return for the upcoming season.

McMahon, 24, joined the Rams last season after being signed off the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad. He made his lone regular-season start in Week 18 against the Seattle Seahawks at SoFi Stadium, showcasing his potential in a critical game. However, for the majority of the season, McMahon was either inactive (nine games) or did not see playing time (six games) during his 15-game tenure with the Rams.
Originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of North Carolina State, McMahon brings versatility and depth to the offensive line. His ability to play multiple positions on the line makes him a valuable asset for the Rams as they continue to build their roster.
As an exclusive rights free agent, McMahon falls under a specific NFL designation. Players with fewer than three accrued seasons and an expired contract fall into this category. If their original team offers them a one-year contract at the league minimum salary (based on their credited seasons), the player is not permitted to negotiate with other teams. This ensures the Rams retain McMahon’s services for at least another season while he continues to develop.
The Rams’ decision to tender McMahon reflects their confidence in his potential and their commitment to maintaining depth on the offensive line. With a full offseason and training camp ahead, McMahon will have the opportunity to compete for a more prominent role in the team’s plans for the 2025 season.
This move also highlights the Rams’ strategy of identifying and developing young talent, particularly players who can contribute in multiple roles. McMahon’s versatility and work ethic could make him a key piece of the offensive line rotation as the Rams aim to build on their recent successes and make another playoff push.
Fans will be eager to see how McMahon progresses and whether he can carve out a larger role in the upcoming season. With the Rams’ offensive line facing the usual challenges of injuries and performance fluctuations, McMahon’s development could prove crucial to the team’s overall success.
