The Minnesota Vikings made improvements to their interior offensive line but saw a decline in their backup depth. They traded Ed Ingram and released Garrett Bradbury, while Dan Feeney and Dalton Risner remain unsigned but could return. The team’s three backup interior linemen under contract have only played three games combined and have not recorded any offensive snaps, which could become a concern if a key starter were to get injured.
As a result, the Vikings may look to draft several offensive linemen in the upcoming draft to bolster their depth. Minnesota is also hosting versatile Big 12 offensive lineman Jonah Savaiinaea from the Arizona Wildcats for a Top-30 visit. Savaiinaea is known for his flexibility along the offensive line, having played multiple positions, including left tackle, right guard, and right tackle. Many scouts believe he is best suited to play guard in the NFL.
Savaiinaea had an impressive career at Arizona, committing to the Wildcats as a three-star recruit for the 2022 season. He earned 36 starts in his career, gaining experience at both tackle and guard. During his junior year, he began as the starting right tackle before transitioning to left tackle after an injury to Rhino Tapa’atoutai.
In his 11 starts (six at right tackle and five at left tackle), he allowed 15 pressures, nine hurries, two QB hits, and four sacks. He also earned an 82.7 pass-blocking grade, a 64.2 run-blocking grade, and a 75.9 overall PFF grade.
