Minnesota is making it clear who they’re eyeing for the 2025 NFL Draft. This offseason, the Vikings have focused on reshaping their defensive line, signing Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave to two-year deals.
However, they still need to bring in young talent to build for the future. On Friday, Tony Pauline, an NFL Draft expert for Sportskeeda, reported that the Vikings were one of seven teams that attended Texas A&M’s Pro Day to scout the defensive linemen there. Pauline also revealed that the Vikings were one of four teams that held in-depth meetings with Shemar Turner before the Pro Day. Turner also met with the Cowboys, Jets, and Dolphins.

Pauline noted that Turner could be a potential first-round pick, praising his fluid and smooth movement on the field. Over his four-year career at Texas A&M, Turner impressed with 115 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and three forced fumbles in 43 games. Although his sack numbers dipped in 2024, he set a career-high with 36 tackles.
Since the 2020 NFL Draft, the Vikings have selected 10 defensive linemen. Last year, their first-round pick, Dallas Turner, played more of a hybrid role than a traditional defensive lineman but still managed three sacks and five quarterback hits in 2024. With their ongoing need to strengthen the defensive line, the Vikings could have the opportunity to draft Turner in the first or second round, adding valuable depth for the 2025 season.
