TEAM-NEWS: “Giants’ Shocking Offseason Move: Matthew Stafford Remains THEIR ‘Top Priority’—Could a Blockbuster Trade Be Coming?”

The New York Giants have officially kicked off their search for a quarterback this offseason. During his Tuesday press conference at the NFL Scouting Combine, general manager Joe Schoen made it clear that the front office will explore all possible avenues—whether through the NFL Draft, free agency, or trade opportunities—to find their next franchise quarterback.

One name that’s heating up on the trade market is Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. As the Rams and Stafford continue to struggle over a new contract, the Giants have reportedly shown interest in the veteran QB. In fact, recent reports suggest that acquiring Stafford is the Giants’ “top priority.”

According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, there’s growing buzz at the NFL Scouting Combine that trading for Stafford is at the top of the Giants’ to-do list. Raanan tweeted, “It’s pretty clear after a couple of days in Indianapolis that the Giants’ top priority at quarterback is Matthew Stafford. Let’s see what happens with him and the Rams, then move on from there.”

When asked about the possibility of trading for Stafford, Schoen was tight-lipped, noting, “He’s under contract with them, so that would be a question for the Rams.” However, despite his refusal to comment directly on Stafford’s availability, reports indicate that the Giants have long had their sights set on the Rams’ signal caller. In fact, sources suggest the Giants even inquired about Stafford’s availability during the 2024 trade deadline.
