South Carolina defensive lineman TJ Sanders is projected to be selected in the second round of the latest NFL mock draft.

The Senior Bowl and Shrine Bowl recently wrapped up, offering college football players from across the nation a chance to showcase their talents in front of NFL scouts. Several Gamecocks participated in both events, and following the showcases, NFL draft analysts typically update their mock drafts. ESPN’s Matt Miller was quick to release his revised mock draft, and he had Sanders making a strong impression, projecting him to be picked 48th overall by the Miami Dolphins.

Miller explained the pick by noting the Dolphins’ need to replace defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, who departed via free agency. He highlighted Sanders’ impressive 3-technique pass rushing ability, emphasizing his explosive first-step quickness and physical resemblance to Wilkins, standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 284 pounds.

Throughout his four years at South Carolina, Sanders totaled 109 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks, proving his ability to make a significant impact on the field. NFL teams are always in search of game-changing players on the defensive line, and Sanders has consistently shown he has the skills to fill that role.
