The Internet Can’t Get Enough of This Player’s Reaction to Making the Playoffs

The Cincinnati Reds were the final team to punch their ticket to the 2025 MLB Playoffs — and judging by their clubhouse celebration, they might have been the most thrilled to get in. After the New York Mets’ loss to the Miami Marlins sealed Cincinnati’s first postseason berth since 2020, one player’s reaction stood out above the rest.

Brent Suter, a lifelong Reds fan and Cincinnati native, couldn’t hold back his joy.

“We frickin’ did it, baby. We did it! You can’t kill the Reds! We’re in it! Let’s gooooooo!” Suter shouted to FanDuel Sports Network Cincinnati as champagne sprayed around him.

Suter, a lefty reliever with postseason experience from his days with Milwaukee, has special reason to celebrate. Cincinnati looked like a long shot for most of the season — trailing the final Wild Card spot by six games as late as Sept. 5 — but a late surge combined with the Mets’ collapse opened the door.

The journey is especially meaningful for Suter. The 36-year-old grew up rooting for the Reds after starring at Archbishop Moeller High School, went on to Harvard, and was a 31st-round draft pick by Milwaukee in 2012. After seven seasons with the Brewers and a stint in Colorado, he signed with his hometown team in 2024. Now, with a career 42–24 record and a 3.57 ERA, he’s chasing the championship ring he’s never won.

The Reds, seeded sixth in the National League, open the playoffs Tuesday against the No. 3 seed Los Angeles Dodgers. Cincinnati hasn’t won a postseason series since 1995 — when they knocked off these same Dodgers.
