Vikings Eye Game-Changing Offensive Line Star in Surprise Pre-Draft Visit!

One of the more highly regarded offensive line prospects in this year’s draft is scheduled to visit the Minnesota Vikings. Despite adding two starters to their O-line during free agency, the team may still look to bolster its depth through the draft. According to Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network, the Vikings will host Arizona offensive tackle Jonah Savaiinaea as part of their “Top 30” pre-draft visits.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 324 pounds, Savaiinaea brings versatility and experience, having started 35 games over three seasons at Arizona. In 2024 alone, he played 345 snaps at left tackle, 364 at right tackle, and even lined up as a tight end 29 times. Earlier in his career, he logged nearly 1,000 snaps at right guard before moving to right tackle in 2023.

Per Pro Football Focus, Savaiinaea showed consistent development each year, with his run-blocking and pass-blocking grades improving annually. He capped off the 2024 season with a 64.2 grade in run blocking and an impressive 82.7 in pass protection.

With left tackle Christian Darrisaw uncertain for Week 1 and guard Will Fries recovering from a tibia injury, Savaiinaea’s ability to play multiple positions could prove invaluable. His versatility might even give him a shot at competing for the starting left guard role, currently held by Blake Brandel.

PFF currently ranks Savaiinaea 87th on its Big Board, projecting him as a third- or fourth-round selection.
