Breaking: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Sparks Firestorm: Blue Jays Star Hints at Yankees Move After Shocking MLB Insider Prediction!

Spring Training is typically a time of hope and excitement for baseball fans, but for Blue Jays supporters, this year feels different. The team’s failure to reach a long-term contract extension with homegrown superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has cast a shadow over the season.

With Guerrero’s self-imposed deadline for a new deal passing on Tuesday, it now seems almost certain that the star slugger will leave Toronto in free agency after this season—or even sooner if he’s traded.

Speculation about Guerrero’s next destination is already heating up, and one MLB insider’s prediction is sure to sting Blue Jays fans. During an appearance on MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM, former New York Mets general manager Steve Phillips shared his thoughts on where Guerrero might land. “He’s going to be a Yankee, I think he’s going to be a Yankee,” Phillips said, explaining his reasoning. “I think (Yankees first baseman Paul) Goldschmidt will be out after the year, (Mets slugger Pete) Alonso won’t opt out, and Vladdy’s going to be a Yankee.”

Phillips suggested that Guerrero would form a powerhouse duo with Aaron Judge, the reigning AL MVP who led the league with 58 home runs last season. This move could also help the Yankees save money after losing Juan Soto in free agency. “They’re going to give him short of Soto money, and in the end, they’ll have Vladdy and Judge in the middle of the lineup instead of Soto and Judge,” Phillips said. “They’ll end up spending less money and still be a great team moving forward. They’ll be the best in the American League for years. So, I think Vladdy’s a Yankee.”

While insider predictions should always be taken with a grain of salt, things got more intriguing when a Yankees fan account on social media pointed out that Guerrero liked an Instagram post showing him in a Yankees uniform alongside Phillips’ report. Whether this was a playful gesture or a hint at his future plans, it’s clear that Guerrero’s next move will be one of the biggest storylines in baseball. For Blue Jays fans, however, it’s a tough pill to swallow.
